Spotlight: Texas Port Ministry

Last week we highlighted our client Rosenberg-Richmond Helping Hands. This week let us introduce you to another incredible nonprofit client of ours: Texas Port Ministry.

As the bookkeeping support for Texas Port Ministry, we do not always get to witness firsthand what our client is actually achieving on the field. After attending Texas Port Ministry’s annual banquet last month, we were able to see and hear just what kind of impact TPM has on the community! Located in Freeport, Texas, this organization has an incredible opportunity to serve some of the tens of thousands of sea farers, port workers, and truck drivers who pass through the Port of Freeport each year. The sea farers are coming in from countries all over the world — some of which have governments that try to shut the Gospel out. These hard working men and women leave their families for months at a time to be at sea. It can be a lonely occupation. Having a place like Texas Port Ministry to come to for reprieve can be the pitstop that changes the trajectory of their life.

TPM offers:

  • Welcome bags
  • Blessing Room (Clothes Closet)
  • Religious Materials such as Bibles, Jesus Film DVDs, and Gospel tracts
  • Free recreation such as pool and table tennis
  • Chapel for prayer and worship
  • Prayer support
  • Homemade cookies
  • A clean place to shower
  • And more!

Visiting Texas Port Ministry

The people who volunteer at Texas Port Ministry are what ultimately make the difference! We are grateful for the men and women who volunteer regularly to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the sea farers, truck drivers, and port workers who come through TPM’s doors. For anyone living in Brazoria County, this is a ministry you want to get involved with! The nations are coming through Port Freeport every single day. An opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission presents itself and you don’t even need a passport to get involved. Visit their website to learn more and get connected: https://texasportministry.org/.
